TECHNICAL BULLETIN #41 - Rev 1.10 (9/03/96) ============================================================================== TITLE : Fax Class Capabilities of a Fax Modem PRODUCT : Procomm Plus 4.x, 3.x ============================================================================== This document details how you can determine the fax class capabilities of your fax modem. QUERY THE MODEM From the Procomm Plus Terminal screen, type AT+FCLASS=? and press . If your modem does not support any faxing capabilities, an "ERROR" message will be returned to the Terminal window. If your modem supports fax, it will respond with one or more numbers separated by commas. In addition, some modems also respond with a "+FCLASS=" prefix before the numerals. For example, "0,1", "0,1,2" and "+FCLASS=0,1" are valid responses. The numeric responses represent the capabilities of the fax modem, where 0 = data mode 1 = Fax Class 1 2 = Fax Class 2 2.0 = Fax Class 2.0 Fax class 1 and 2 are supported by Procomm Plus, but fax class 2.0 is a newer specification which is not supported. Procom Plus also supports another fax class called Sendfax. Your fax modem may also support other fax classifications which, like Sendfax, are not identified by the "AT+FCLASS=?" query. These can only be identified by the fax modem's documentation. ============================================================================== To ensure that you have the latest version of this document, compare its revision number to that of the same document on any of our support sites.
