*********************************************************************** KB3708.TXT -- Alternative key mapping of VT102 terminal output for use with 3708 protocol converter. REQUIRED: PROCOMM PLUS ver. 1.1A or 1.1B or above. Cannot be used with "Test Drive" version of PROCOMM PLUS *********************************************************************** Some users have experienced problems using PROCOMM PLUS with 3708 protocol converters. The problem seems to be that certain function key and shift function key sequences that work normally with the IBM 7171 protocol converter produce unexpected results when sent through the 3708 protocol converter. Here is an alternate key map for the VT102 emulation sent to us by a user who found out what sequences seem to work. You should be aware that this user was communicating with a PROFS system on an IBM VM/CMS mainframe. Although this key map alternative worked in that environment, it has not been tested in other environments. To alter your VT102 keymap, start PROCOMM PLUS and select the VT102 terminal emulation (ALT-S, T). At terminal mode, press ALT-F8 to edit the key map. To edit a particular function key (or combination of keys) just press the appropriate key(s) and type in the characters that appear in the second sample screen below. The "^" character is a literal up-arrow (shift-6). The file PCLPUS.KBD must be loaded in your PROCOMM PLUS working directory. This file will be altered. If you want to retain a "normal" version of the VT102 key map, copy the PCPLUS.KBD file, giving it another name. You can then switch between the two key definition files by renaming the appropriate one to PCPLUS.KBD.
